HEALTHSMART

The Healthsmart Project also oversees the HART-4-All project.

HEALTHSMART

HealthSmart is a project dedicated to increasing health education for children in our local  community. We do this by partnering up with YMCAs/Boys and Girls Clubs to teach young students about health-related topics like first aid,  nutrition, mental health, etc. It’s a great opportunity to give back to our community in a fun and interactive way!

Healing Art Recreational Therapy 4 All, otherwise known as HART 4 All is a project in IMED. It is through this project by which volunteers are able to go to local hospitals from the OC to LA county areas and provide art therapy sessions to patients, specifically children.

HART for All’s aim is to use arts and crafts as a means of creating therapeutic outlets to generate a positive distraction, to allow the patient to freely and creatively express their emotions, and to ultimately aid in their healing processes. With every visit, we hope to give patients a greater sense of normalcy and to also become a mentor for them over time.
